“…but knowing how to apply them (skill sets) in design takes experience followed by a certain period of humility. The more that novice designers like us realize how little we know, the faster our minds will accept and utilize new ideas.”

Layouts, Graphic Design, and Portfolio Tips
A few Juniors and Seniors were lending helping hands towards the end of the quarter with layouts and graphic design and I thought it may be worth sharing some of the essential ideas, tips, and advice for presenting your work concerning ID.
Graphic design is not easy but a few bits of knowledge are crucial when it comes to presenting your work. Here are a few tips and resources to consider when laying out your work from the industrial design student’s perspective. Also check out this link from Smashing Magazine, some very nice layouts inspiration. ( Photo Credit / Freelance Folder )

3 Things to Do Over Winter Break
1. Veg. Out - There is a reason why they call it a break: don't think about school/design. At least for a while. If you start thinking about the review, classes, jobs, etc..stop, eat 4 high caloric cookies from grandma + an egg nog latte, throw in Muppets Christmas Carol, and sleep for 12 hours. You'll feel better about yourself.
