ReMade returns for 2011 - Junior Class Project

Our junior class of Industrial Design students has spent the last two weeks designing and constructing 13 different products out of found and discarded materials. The ReMade project was founded by WWU Industrial Design Program Director Arunas Oslapas over a decade ago. ReMade is an annual design challenge combining Sustainability and entrepreneurship. The goal is to transform items of industrial waste into viable commercial products.

A limited run of 15 are created, branded, and then sold. They will be sold at Ideal - Carefully Curated Goods located at 1227 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham, Washington, Friday June 3rd, as a part of the monthly Bellingham Art Walk. The public is invited to a meet-and-greet reception with all designers and their products from 6-9 p.m. Student projects include a magazine holder from carpet tiles, a basket from bicycle spokes and rims, and a bowl from counter top laminate.
